Overview

In 2019, NC State redesigned the college and unit WordPress theme creating a new set of web standards that weren’t documented in a singular location. Inconsistencies started to creep in when new design elements needed to be added to the theme. 

It was clear we needed to build a comprehensive design system library that consolidated the growing number of inconsistencies into a master standard the entire team could work from in the future. Using the principles of atomic design, we created a component library that houses all of our text styles, colors, design elements, and a master WordPress block template for each of our products.
